3/7/2010-Get out the grout
I spent the day grouting, painting and cleaning windows. The Julia is a cruel overseer. I was looking forward to a Sunday spent sitting on the couch eating pop-tarts and drinking beer, but it wasn't meant to be. First I had to clean a whole load of windows. I had to hang off a ladder on the side of the house while The Girl threw wadded up newspapers at me. That's actually a very important lesson that I should probably pass on.
For one, never ever use windex. Windex is pointless. What you want to do is go to the auto parts store and get the glass cleaner that comes in a spray can. There's no particular brand, just ask for the spray can of glass cleaner and they'll hand you the right stuff. Secondly throw out the paper towels, old newspapers are the best thing to wash windows with. You might not guess it, but they do a superb job. So that's it. That's my legacy to the world. Glass cleaner and newspaper. Ta daa.
Anyhow after we got done with the windows The Girl left for the day, and I busied myself painting the side of the house. I only painted the one side of the house for the time being, I was afraid if I painted the whole thing that I might not be able to find my way home, so I figured I's phase it in gradually. Once I put the paint away I had a little grouting to take care of, but once I got that completed Her Highness let me wash up and make myself some dinner, so that was pretty nice of her.
Tomorrow we may well have a job, but it's not confirmed at this point. Time will tell I imagine. It usually does. Until next time, Brian
